Wer wir sind
Global Health Club, formerly Somali Health Club, was established online in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic to address the urgent need for accessible, multilingual health information. It began as a grassroots initiative supporting Somali- and Arabic- English speaking communities by connecting them with healthcare professionals who could explain medical issues in their native languages.
The platform connects the global health community with healthcare professionals, providing a space where individuals can ask questions about medical topics and access reliable health information in multiple languages.
Building on this experience, the organization was officially registered in Vienna in 2024. Founded by professionals in public health, Global Health Club promotes health literacy, supports access to education, and empowers refugees and migrants through self-advocacy, acting as a bridge between communities and health systems. The initiative aims to make health knowledge more accessible, empower individuals to better understand and take charge of their own health, and combat misinformation in the health sector.
